The head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Maksym Nefedov said that the launch of the department is possible in late September or early October this year.

“In order to launch Customs Service, The Cabinet of Ministers must take an additional decision on assigning duties to the State Customs Service. If everything will go according to plan, then the new government, which will be formed in September, approximately at the end of September or at the very beginning of October, can entrust us with such functions. And we will officially start our work,” Nefedov emphasized.

According to Nefedov, the transferring of employees from the SFS to the newly created customs office will begin next week, so the staff of the department’s central office will be fully formed within a month, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“I hope that next week we will begin the process of transferring the first staff to the central office. If everything goes according to plan, then at the next meeting the Cabinet will coordinate the creation of territorial bodies. I expect that in a month the central office will be fully formed,” Nefedov said.

Nefedov also added that the Ministry of Finance should approve the maximum number of hydraulic structures for a start of the service.

As The Journalist reported, Nefedov believes customs service can be launched in two and a half months.
