The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has delegated the function of administering taxes from the State Fiscal Service (SFS) to the newly created State Tax Service (STS), thereby starting the work of the new department.
According to the head of the Tax Service Serhiy Verlanov, the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting and will come into force from the moment the document will be published.
According to him, the adoption of the order became possible after the procedure on creating a new service was completed: state registration, approval of its structure, apparatus staffing structure, transfer of 30% of employees at the central office and territorial bodies from the SFS to the STS, the League reports.
The head of the Tax Service added that the SFS will stop its work after the full launch of the new Customs Service. The government shall transfer SFS customs functions to the Tax Service.
In her turn, the head of the Ministry of Finance, Oksana Markarova, said that the reorganization of the Fiscal Service will allow to create new tax and customs services of a European standard.
“We have successfully completed half of the work on the split of the SFS, which, together with the deep reform of both new services, is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Finance. I hope that we will also effectively pass through the stage of separation of the State Customs Service in the near future, after which both structures will begin to fulfill their functions in accordance with their strategies,” the minister said.
