U.S. Chargé d’Affaires ad interim for Ukraine William Taylor will resign in early January 2020. He said this to The New York Times, NV reports.
Taylor will leave his post due to the expiration of the temporary appointment. According to the law on vacant posts, political appointees to the post of attorney ad interim may hold office for up to 200 days.
“The administration will soon appoint a permanent ambassador,” Taylor said.
Taylor was asked to return to the State Department after the resignation of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Jovanovitch.
