Smoke from Australia fires reaches South America. Ukraine ready to help Australia

MeteoChile Meteorological Service said Australia’s forest fire smoke reached the shores of South America, namely Argentina and Chile.

“The images show smoke from fires in Australia brought by airflows to Chile and Argentina,” the report said.

In this regard, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that the Ukrainian state is ready to send about 200 rescuers to Australia to help extinguish large-scale fires.

“The Government of Ukraine has informed the Australian side of its readiness to send for help around 200 specially trained State Emergency Service rescuers. The Ukrainian side informed Australia about the readiness of the rescuers to arrive at the scene of the tragedy within 24-36 hours with the necessary equipment on a specially cherted long-haul aircraft,” Avakov said.

The Interior Minister stressed that rescuers are awaiting the decision of the Australian side.
