Ukraine, Belarus intend to restore shipping on the Dnieper and Prypiat rivers

Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy and the Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Aleksey Avramenko during a joint meeting agreed to carry out work aimed at restoring shipping on the Dnieper and the Prypiat rivers. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

“Our main task and goals of further cooperation is the development of river navigation on the Prypiat and Dnieper rivers, the restoration of full-fledged navigation, including as part of the implementation of the E-40 project. The E-40 project on restoration of the international river route has entered the practical implementation stage,” Krykliy said.

The deepening work is planned on the Dnieper and Prypiat rivers to bringing them to shipping depths standarts. It is also noted that Ukraine and Belarus plan to launch a joint tourist river route.
