Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said that the launch of electronic excise stamps to protect consumers from buying counterfeit alcohol from May 1.
“On May 1, the Electronic Excise Stamp system will be launched to protect consumers from counterfeit alcohol products. Finally, the story, we have been talked about since 2014 is becoming reality,” the Head of Government said.
Honcharuk also emphasized that this will create a level-playing field for manufacturers and simplify business by replacing paper orders with electronic ones through the taxpayers’ e-cabinet, which will be possible as early as April 1.
“It will also help strengthen the fight against tax evasion and reduce the shadow market of alcoholic beverages,” the PM added.
