Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine has held a public discussion of implementing the draft plan of the state regional policy and the draft of State Strategy for Regional Development for 2021-2027. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry.
The draft plan defines performance indicators for the implementation of the new public policy. In particular, a decrease of interregional differentiation indicators according to the main socio-economic indicators: the volume of gross regional product, direct foreign and capital investments, and the unemployment level.
The new policy aimed at two strategic priority steps, namely, increasing the level of competitiveness of regions and territories; and increasing the ability of authorities and institutions to develop regions and territories.
According to the First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Dmytro Zhyvytsky, it is also planned to create a Register of capable regional development agencies; to form an effective system of training and advanced training of specialists for the civil central and local executive bodies, local government officials in the field of local and regional development; create and ensure the functioning of a unified geographic information system for monitoring the development of communities and territories.
The participants of the event were acquainted with the draft of State Strategy for Regional Development for the period until 2027.
