“An Amorous Couple” painting by Pierre Louis Goudreaux, which was stolen during the World War II by Nazis, will be returned to Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States, on the eve of February 19, Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko participated in the official handover ceremony of “An Amorous Couple” painting, which was held in New York.
The painting had been stolen by Nazis during the World War II from the Khanenko Family National Museum in Kyiv and subsequently discovered in the United States.
The return of the cultural heritage site became possible thanks to the successful cooperation between diplomats and special services of the two countries.
