Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Antanas Linkevičius has introduced a resolution to parliament to condemn Russia’s attempts to rewrite history, in particular, to justify the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, Delfi reports.
“Mr Linkevičius has registered a draft resolution which is proposed to condemn “the historical revisionism carried out by the Russian Federation and the spread of misinformation denying the role of the Soviet Union as one of the main initiators of World War II,” the message reads.
The draft also condemns the attempt to justify the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and its secret protocols.
With this resolution, the Sejm will appeal to the European Parliament, parliaments of Central and Eastern Europe, international organizations and the international community with a call together to resist the historical revisionism that Russia intends to implement.
As The Journalist reported, Šefčovič appointed as co-chair of EU committee.
