Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne said that China is hiding some of the information regarding the source and distribution of the coronavirus, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“The issues around the coronavirus are issues for independent review, and I think that it is important that we do that,” the Foreign Minister said.
However, U.S. President Donald Trump said that China should be held accountable if the investigation finds that the country has deliberately concealed information about COVID-19.
“If they were knowingly responsible, yeah, then there should be consequences,” the U.S. president emphasized, adding that if China “just made a mistake, a mistake is a mistake.”
“Mistakes happen,” Trump said.
