The representation of the President of Ukraine in Crimea condemns the mass searches and detentions of Crimean Tatars on the peninsula occupied by Russia. The department perceives such an action as the continuation of the policy of the Russian Federation to create an atmosphere of fear. This was reported by the press service of the representative office.
Representation told that every citizen with an active civic position was being persecuted in Crimea. Among the detainees are public journalists, court observers for politically motivated cases, religious observers, etc.
As you know, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhepparova called the mass detentions in Crimea an attempt to extradite Crimean Tatars as terrorists.
