Chairman of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Serhiy Osachuk has said that the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the region is stabilizing to a certain extent. Departments that have been redesigned for patients with coronavirus are returning to normal operational mode, the press service of the Regional State Administration reports.
According to Osachuk, countering the coronavirus epidemic in Bukovina remains a priority.
“We use this time of relative calm to give the doctors a rest. The departments that have been redesigned for patients with coronavirus are returning to normal mode of operation. Only 642 out of about a thousand reserved beds for coronavirus patients were left. Now they are loaded by 45%,” the head of the Regional State Administration said.
He added that restrictions are still in force in the region: citizens obliged to wear face masks in public places and observe social distance.
Acting Director of the State Chernivtsi Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Natalia Gopko said that people aged from 30 to 69 are most often sick in Bukovina.
Natalia Gopko also recalled that everyone who has signs of acute respiratory viral infections, pneumonia, as well as contact persons are being tested for coronavirus in the laboratory center. However, research should be done only on the 14th day of incubation period.
