Head of National Security Committee supports firearms legalization in Ukraine

The parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence advocated the legalization of firearms among civil population. This was stated by the head of the committee, deputy from the “Servant of the People” Oleksandr Zavitnevych in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Zavitnevych said that “as a military man” he supports this initiative. However, he believes that at the same time it is necessary to develop the correct licensing system.

“By the way, I am a hunter, I have a gun, and I strictly follow all the conditions for its storage and use. I support the legalization of short-barrel guns, for example,” Zavitnevych said.
