Armed Forces of Ukraine denied information about reduction of military units

The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the transformation of the command and control system in accordance with NATO standards continues, in particular, in terms of redistributing functions and eliminating duplication between military command and control bodies, ArmyInform reports.

At the same time, the General Staff has warned that the information about the reduction of the Ukrainian army, which is being disseminated in the media, is fake. The publication stressed that after structural changes in the units, the number of troops will not decrease, not a single combat unit will be reduced.

The General Staff noted that this year, in accordance with the planned organizational measures, the personnel strength of the troops will be reduced by more than 20,000 positions. The General Staff recalled that the number of troops is now almost maximum – 250,000 people, but the number of staff is much higher.
