UN Secretary-General António Guterres has said that the coronavirus pandemic is out of control and recalled that the number of victims of the pandemic is approaching a million, UN press center reports.
Mr. António Guterres called on countries for a global ceasefire, stressing that the coronavirus is “the number one threat to global security in the world today.” He said that the vaccine will not be a panacea for the epidemic and expressed concerns that many people in different countries do not want to be vaccinated against coronavirus in the future.
The UN chief noted that people should be prepared to be vaccinated, but the spread of misinformation about vaccines is fueling hesitation to get vaccinated and “wild conspiracy theories” as well.
