Ukrainian delegation got acquainted with the technologies that ensure reliable and affordable energy supply, sustainable energy development, in particular, hydrogen production. To Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olha Buslavets, while being in Germany, she saw important innovative projects in the energy sector that businesses are working on, and invited the German side to intensify the dialogue between research and innovation teams that work to make the energy sector more climate neutral and competitive. The Journalist reports, citing the press center of the Ministry of Energy.

“The Ukrainian energy sector is faced with the task of ensuring a balance and meeting the demand for electricity, while taking into account the need to reduce the negative impact on the climate. The experience of Siemens Energy in the production and use of hydrogen and the reduction of carbon emissions by the energy sector, the creation of modern energy storage systems is important for us,” Olha Buslavets said opening the meeting with the company’s management.

The company creates new energy systems around the world, providing 18% of the world’s energy production.

“Business oriented primarily on the needs of customers, while the role of the state is to provide political support and create barrier-free running of such a business. The ministry is preparing a roadmap and will soon start preparing a Strategy for the hydrogen economy of Ukraine, and after that a package of normative and regulatory acts necessary to launch the hydrogen market in Ukraine will be ready.

Being in production today, we saw how hydrogen technologies can be sectorally integrated into various sectors of the economy, housing and communal services, transport and energy. Particularly interesting solutions for the use of hydrogen were proposed for balancing the energy system and energy storage, which are extremely relevant for Ukraine due to the lack of highly maneuverable generating capacity,” Olha Buslavets commented.

Siemens Energy management pays special attention to the transportation of hydrogen and the development of infrastructure for hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Discussing the issue of possible cooperation with Ukrainian companies, Siemens representatives noted that it is imperative to get involved in the development and implementation of European general projects, such as the Blue Danube. This makes it possible to create an international consortium and cooperate within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy.

The parties highly appreciated the potential for cooperation and the translation of the dialogue into the implementation of specific projects.
