German Health Minister Jens Spahn tested positive for coronavirus, after which he went into self-isolation, Spiegel reports.
His symptoms of infection were similar to cold-like. At the same time, all employees of the ministry who were in contact with Jens Spahn were informed about the infection of the head of the Ministry of Health.
The Minister of Health became the first member of the German government to contract the coronavirus. In the morning, he attended a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers headed by Angela Merkel in the Federal Chancellor’s Office.
However, according to local media reports, members of the Federal Government will not go into self-isolation, since all the rules of hygiene and distance were observed at the meeting.
Germany has 390,517 coronavirus cases, of which 302,100 have recovered.
