U.S. Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine Kristina Kvien made a corresponding statement during a meeting with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova on the eve of October 26, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.

In turn, Emine Dzhaparova expressed gratitude to the United States for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and for its unyielding stance against Russia’s aggression in Donbas and the illegal occupation of Crimea. In this regard, she informed her interlocutor in detail about the vision of the Ukrainian side of the main elements and substantive content of the Crimean platform, the main goal of which should be to consolidate the policy of non-recognition of the occupation of Crimea by the international community.

In turn, Kristina Kvien expressed her readiness to cooperate with Ukraine and stressed that the US position, enshrined in the Declaration on Crimea promulgated by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, remains firm and unchanged – Crimea is part of Ukraine and the United States will never recognize Russia’s attempts to annex it.

Emine Dzhaparova also expressed gratitude for the consistent support of Ukraine from the United States in the framework of international organizations, and also stressed the importance of adopting updated and significantly strengthened resolutions “Problem of militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine, as well as parts of the Black and Azov Seas” and “the situation with human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine,” which will soon be submitted by Ukraine to the UN General Assembly.
