December 6, the first direct flight Kyiv-Skopje was performed. From now on, the countries are connected by regular flights, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
According to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine and North Macedonia last year signed visa-free travel, and regular flights will provide an impetus not only to the development of tourism, but also to Ukrainian-Macedonian contacts.
In turn, the Ambassador of Ukraine to North Macedonia Natalia Zadorozhniuk expressed satisfaction with the positive trend in the development of bilateral economic cooperation.
“Despite the difficult year associated with the coronavirus pandemic, already in 9 months of 2020 we are reaching more indicators than in the entire 2019. In 2020, we expect a high rate of Ukrainian-Macedonian trade over the past 8 years,” the diplomat said.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that representatives of Macedonian tour operators are planning a visit to Ukraine for the subsequent creation of tourist cards. About 20 travel companies from North Macedonia should take part in this tour.
