The state has begun to implement three new programs to support Ukrainians who may suffer from the January winter break quarantine. These includes following programs: “Assistance to workers and individual entrepreneurs – UAH 8,000”, “Help to employers who may lose income due to quarantine” and “One-time compensation for single social contribution business entities.” The Journalist reported with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Economy.

The submission of applications for the first of the programs (the so-called “8,000”) was extended until December 31, for the other two programs, documents must be submitted by December 21.

“These terms have been set, since we plan to make the majority of payments by the end of the year. In fact, until the moment when people go to the January quarantine. Our goal is for entrepreneurs and employees to receive funds before the lockdown and to be able to survive it in a calm format. We tried to make the most simplified procedure for filing applications with a minimum list of documents,” noted the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Igor Petrashko.

The minister added that there is a clear list of economic activities that may suffer due to increased quarantine and that are subject to the implementation of programs.

Taking into account this List, two programs are being implemented – “8,000” (through the portal “Diya”) and “Compensation of single social contribution” (through the regional State Tax Service of Ukraine).

The third program “Assistance to employers who may lose income due to quarantine” is not tied to the List and is implemented through regional Employment Centers.

“We tried to make the programs as simple as possible and to reach the maximum number of people. Now our common task, together with business associations, is to convey to entrepreneurs and individuals how they should submit documents and, together with you, ensure that they are submitted,” the minister said.

The meeting with the Minister was attended by representatives of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, the Association of the Entertainment Industry, the European Business Association, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Cinemas of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Restaurant Association, the Malls Club, the Association of Retailers of Ukraine, etc.
