South Korean Samsung Electronics may invest USD 17 billion to build a chip factory in Arizona, Texas or New York. The Wall Street Journal reported.
The company is considering two sites near Phoenix, two more in Austin and a large industrial complex in Genesee County, New York, one source told the newspaper.
The enterprise can employ up to 1,900 people, and its operation can begin by October 2022. Local authorities are offering a range of incentives, including tax breaks and infrastructure improvements.
