The US Air Force is deploying B-1 bombers to Norway for the first time, sending a clear message to Russia that the United States is ready to act decisively in the strategically important Arctic region, as well as in the region where Russia is showing aggression. This was stated by the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, General Jeff Harrigian, reports CNN.
“Operational readiness and our ability to support allies and partners, and to react quickly are critical to our joint success,” the American commander said.
It is now known that the United States is deploying four B-1 bombers and about 200 personnel from Dyess Air Force in Texas to the Norwegian military airfield Orland.
