The state concern Ukroboronprom does not need to be liquidated: it is necessary to replace its management instead.

The former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the presidential adviser, Aivaras Abromavičius, said about it at the round table “What to do with Ukroboronprom? Aims and Directions of Reforms.”

“It is necessary to suspend discussions about the liquidation of Ukroboronprom, because those who propose liquidation offer to cover one’s tracks. We need to completely replace the company’s management, which has brought the company to its current state, when we see it’s “friends”, embezzlement, deception, a lack of transparency,” the adviser said.

Abromavičius also added that Ukroboronprom should be guided like any other state-owned company by the fact that there should not be any exception, that this is a military sphere.

According to the adviser, the supervisory board should consist of people of different specialties, not just the military.

In addition, Abromavičius said that Ukroboronprom must “necessarily undergo an international audit.”

“A company with a billion-dollar turnover should undergo an international audit by the Big Four, since none of the Accounts Chamber will find anything there, including counterparties who hide money with offshore companies,” the presidential adviser added.

As The Journalist reported, the Ukroboronprom’s international audit will cost USD 5 million to taxpayers.
