AFU will purchase second batch of ZU-23-2 AA gun

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will purchase a second batch of Ukraine-made 23mm barrels for ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun, which recently have been approved for exploitation.

This was reported by the Military page.

Nine barrels produced by the Design Bureau “Artillery Armament” will be acquired for UAH 1,755,200.

The 3623rd central arsenal has already acquired 10 KBA40 barrels for UAH 1,950,200 in September of this year. KBA40 23mm barrels to 2A14 (M) guns of the ZU-23-2 twin anti-aircraft gun (index 2A13) are produced by Design Bureau in accordance to their own design documentation in line with the technical specifications of TU U 25.4-34297075-040: 2018 (KBA40-00.00.000 TU ) agreed by the Ministry of Defense in 2019.

According to the results tests conducted by state, the 23mm KBA40 barrel for 2A14 (M) guns was approved by the order No. 279 of the Ministry of Defense dated June 5, 2019, for use in the Armed Forces for a special period (NATO nomenclature number – 1005 43 001 0822).

As The Journalist reported, AFU will receive 2,800 units of weapons by the end of 2019.
