The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Natalia Galibarenko, said that the high price on weapons restrains the negotiations between the countries.
At the same time, the diplomat did not go into details, because there are «certain sensitive moments.»
«I can just say that relevant negotiations and consultations are under way. And they never stopped,» – Galibarenko said.
The diplomat stressed that «the Great Britain was one of those countries that has always been very cautious about, in generally, the hypothetical issue of weapon shipments, because this could aggravate of the situation in the East.»
«The Russian logic has allowed the British to understand that the issue here is not in arming Ukraine, but in the Kremlin’s aggressiveness. In order to conditionally provoke the Kremlin even more, we should not even supply weapons,» – the Ambassador said.
The diplomat also noted that «the relevant negotiations are going on, but they are restrained by a very high price. I.e. Ukraine is interested not so much in buying as in receiving any help. And this is a completely different track of our relations,» – the Ambassador said.
