President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Vadym Omelchenko as Permanent Representative to UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Vadym Omelchenko is the current ambassador to France. The corresponding decree was published on the president’s website.

“To appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the French Republic Vadym Omelchenko as the permanent representative of Ukraine to UNESCO concurrently,” reads the document.

In June, Zelensky appointed Omelchenko Ukraine’s ambassador to France to replace Oleh Shamshura, who was also Permanent Representative to UNESCO.
