President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the mayor of Zaporizhya, Volodymyr Buriak, to resolve the most pressing problems in the city that worry local residents, before October 15.

This was reported by the presidential press service.

Public activist Ruslan Khanumak made public appeals from residents of Zaporizhya to the president about the problem of drug trafficking, as well as illegal pawnshops and gambling establishments.

“Drug trafficking must be stopped. We are preparing a bill on gaming machines and pawnshops,” the president said, addressing the mayor and the head of the police department.

Zelensky also called on the mayor of Zaporizhya, Volodymyr Buriak, to pay attention to the need to solve the environmental problems of the city.

“I ask you to appeal to all enterprises so that they understand that the ecosystem and the ecological situation in such cities is very complicated,” he stressed.

At the same time, the deputy head of the Presidential Office, Oleksii Honcharuk, turned to the city authorities with a request to allow specialists to conduct a routine check at Zaporizhstal, in the fall.

Special attention was paid to the problem of ambrosia, which provokes allergic diseases in Zaporizhia residents. Buriak spoke about the program to combat this harmful plant.

Another problem is the renewal of the rolling stock of urban transport and its air conditioning. The president asked how much funds the city needs to purchase modern transport. The mayor noted that the corresponding program will be implemented in the near future.

“Do it urgently,” Zelensky ordered.

The head of state set the task to show the first results in solving these problems by October 15.

“On October 15, we will come and check three issues: air conditioners in trolley buses, drug control and ambrosia issues,” the president concluded.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky offered Acting Head of Mykolaiv RSA Viacheslav Bon to resign.
