American Boeing aircraft successfully tested the folding wing, which will allow you to make long-distance flights at a transonic speed.
As emphasized by CNN, the development will allow the aircraft to fly at a speed of about 0.8 Mach number.
Such characteristics of the aircraft provides increased wingspan, supported by an optimized supporting structure of the aircraft. The development of the wing was carried out by Boeing together with NASA as part of the Subsonic Ultra Green Aircraft Research project, which involves the creation of a low-noise and environmentally friendly aircraft.
