Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine permits Bakcell operator to buy Vodafone Ukraine

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has permitted Azerbaijan’s Bakcell operator to purchase Vodafone Ukraine mobile communications operator.

This was reported by the committee press service.

“On October 24, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine granted permission to Bakcell LLC (Baku, Azerbaijan) for the indirect purchase of shares of Preludium B.V. (the Netherlands), which grants over 50% of the votes in the management body of the company,” Antimonopoly Committee said.

The transaction will allow the Azerbaijani company to get indirect control over the Ukrainian mobile operator, known as the Vodafone brand.
