Oldest bread on the planet was discovered (PHOTO)

In Jordan, scientists discovered petrified remains of bread. Their age is about 14 thousand 500 years. According to archaeologists – this is the oldest baked goods in the world, reports The Washington Post.

As it was possible to establish, pita breads reminiscent of lavash were made from wild cereals – barley, wheat or oats. When they were cooked, they also used crushed tubers of plants and added water.
A similar bakery product was baked in an oven, which was located directly in the stone floor in the middle of the hut. Its diameter was approximately one meter.
Note that this finding indicates that people began to bake bread long before the development of agriculture.
