The Austrian Ministry of Justice has authorized the extradition of Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash to the United States, but this process have been delaying by his lawyers.
Austrian Foreign Minister Oleksandr Shallenberg during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that Austria is not delaying Firtash’s extradition. “The Ministry of Justice has already adopted an appropriate resolution, but Firtash’s lawyers are delaying the process,” the minister said.
He added that the judicial review of the case should be completed as well.
Ukrainian Truth clarifies that Firtash’s lawyers filed a new lawsuit to annul the extradition decision “due to new circumstances.”
