Austrian Embassy in Ukraine supports the decision of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the vetting of the law on the ban of timber exports.
At the same time, the Austrian diplomatic mission is confident that Ukraine must adhere to its international obligations.

«Veto of President Poroshenko on a proposal to ban timber exports is an important step in respect of Ukraine’s international obligations. The protection of forests, the fight against illegal logging are our common goals, but the ban on exports is not useful», Austrian embassy wrote.
As «Journalist» reported, under the far-fetched pretext of sanitary felling, Ukrainian forests are cut down and imported into the EU countries.
