AvtoEvroSyla accused Lviv border guards of smuggling, colluding with customs officers

AvtoEvroSyla association stated that Ukrainian border guards prohibit videotaping the facts of smuggling and violation of the Ukrainian citizens’ rights at Shegini checkpoint of Lviv customs.

“The border guards of Ukraine, by the possible colluding with the customs officers, using their powers are trying to prohibit filming the facts of smuggling and violation of the rights of Ukrainian citizens at the Shegini checkpoint, which is located at the Lviv customs," said in a statement.

AvtoEvroSyla claims that people fixed on the camera suspected officials (which is allowed by the Ukrainian law), which may be involved in the violation of the rights of Ukrainians while crossing the border and in ensuring the smuggling process.

At the same time, “the border guards have already beaten two people and took the cameras from them, so that the recorded evidence did not get on the TV channels”.

“According to the information, the border guards have colluding with the corrupt customs officers. They threatening with weapons to the people in order do not let them to get out of their cars and to record the facts of crimes,” the report stresses.
