The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus said that about 700 participants of unauthorized protests were detained on August 12, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“About 700 people who participated in unauthorized mass events were detained,” the Interior Ministry noted.
Thus, the day before, the total number of detained protesters reached about 6,000. It also clarifies that during the protest actions more than 100 law enforcement officers were injured.
“The riots in the country are not so massive, but the level of aggression towards law enforcement officers remains high. In total, as a result of unlawful actions of citizens on August 9-13, 103 law enforcement officers were injured, 28 of them were hospitalized,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus added.
