On the eve of June 3, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree dismissing the current government, BelTA reports.
Before deciding on the resignation of the government, Lukashenko discussed proposals for a new composition of the government, the website of the president notes. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Council of the Republic (upper house of parliament) Natalya Kochanova, Chairman of the House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) Vladimir Andreichenko, head of the Presidential Administration Igor Sergeyenko and Secretary of State Security Council Andrei Ravkov.
Lukashenko recalled that, on the eve of the presidential election, the current head of state determines the composition of the government, in advance, “so that people, voting for or voting against, understand who will be involved in resolving vital issues related to their life and the socio-economic development of the state.”
