Two migrants died on the shores of Sardinia, who tried to reach the coast by swimming, because a motor broke down on their wooden boat and drifted into the open sea. In addition, eight more migrants are gone. About this reports The Local.
«On a wooden boat with 13 migrants, presumably Algerians, the engine broke down on Thursday, and 10 of them decided to try to get to the shore by swimming», the report said.
Three people who stayed in the boat and survived told that their 10 fellow travelers, after an engine failure at a distance of about one kilometer from Toro Island, jumped out into the sea to sail to the coast.
At the moment a rescue operation to search for migrants attracted boats, airplanes and helicopters.
