In 2018, more than 67% of high school graduates in places of compact residence of Hungarian community and 63% of graduates in places of residence of Romanian community could not score the minimum test score on external independent assessment in Ukrainian language and literature.
This was reported by Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych, writes Unian.
According to Hrynevych, EIT at schools of national minorities, where instruction is conducted exclusively in their native language, and the state language is studied only as a subject, are «extremely alarming».
According to Hrynevych, this means that these children do not have the opportunity to enroll in institutions of higher education in Ukraine; they cannot build their professional career in any region of country.
«This situation isolates them only in the place of compact residence or pushes them out of Ukraine into their language environment», the minister added.
As reported by The Journalist, in 2019, an external independent evaluation will take place from May 20 to July 12.
