The British Royal Air Force attacked the Syrian government troops.

According to The Times, this happened last month near a base called al-Tanf, where U.S. and British troops are training a Syrian rebel group fighting ISIS (southern Syria), near Syria’s borders with Iraq and Jordan.

The British Air Force fighter Eurofighter Typhoon, using a laser guidance system, dropped a 227 kilogram bomb on the position of President Bashar Assad’s army.

As a result of the air strike, one Syrian army officer was killed and seven others were wounded. The source notes, British forces attacked Syrian troops for the first time since April.
The British Defense Ministry considered the actions of the Air Force as «fully proportionate to the threat».
