UK Member of the European Parliament Julie Ward called on the aggressor country to release all Ukrainian political prisoners, including journalist Roman Sushchenko. This was reported on the website of the MEP.

Julie Ward noted that Sushchenko is a Ukrainian journalist who was  illegally sentenced to a 12-year term in a Russian prison for politically motivated reasons. She reminded about numerous other journalists and activists, such as Oleg Sentsov, who have been detained by Russian authorities for their work. Ward considers it obvious that the Russian Federation “attacks freedom of speech.”

“I join calls for Russia to free all political prisoners who have been detained since the annexation of the Crimea. We cannot live in a world where freedom of speech and journalism are so clearly ignored,” said the deputy.

Recall Roman Sushchenko was illegally detained on September 30, 2016 in Moscow, where he arrived on a private trip.

As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian political prisoner Balukh was placed in an insulator.
