Future Ukrainian doctors will have to take maths or physics to enter universities

Applicants who will enroll in medical universities in 2019 will have to pass the External independent testing (EIT) and to choose either mathematics or physics to take.

This was stated by the Acting Minister of Health Oleksandr Linchevsky.

«The conditions of admission in 2019 require a passing score of 150 points EIT for the second and third items for medicine, pediatrics and dentistry remains. The position of the ministry is unchanged. In 2019 is introduced the minimum competitive score 130 points for the second and third certificates for pharmacy and industrial pharmacy,» the Acting Minister of Health said.

According to Linchevsky, the Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, have changed the competitive items for admission to medical universities for 2019, UNIAN reports.

«The first subject is the Ukrainian language, it remains unchanged. The second subject is optional to choose between biology or chemistry. The third (new) one is also optional to choose between physicist or mathematician,» said the Deputy Minister of Health.

Linchevsky noted that the preparation level of future doctor in mathematics indicates his «the ability to learn, shows analytical skills and ability to make decisions.»
