First Deputy Minister of Energy Olha Buslavets has took part in the online conference “Fund for Guaranteeing Loans for Energy Efficiency in Industry: How Does It Work?” During the event were discussed the multi-vector development of energy efficiency and the reform of the main state body responsible for this area. The Journalist reports with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Energy.

“Improving energy efficiency is not only a priority for the Ministry of Energy, but also a necessary condition for sustainable development of Ukraine. We understand what challenges and what opportunities our state faces in the wake of the European green deal. Therefore, the transformation of the State Energy Efficiency Agency into a green energy agency has now begun, which will be a key cross-sectoral body for implementing the green transition policy and ensuring sustainable development of the country,” Olha Buslavets noted.

A progressive organizational structure has already been developed, which takes into account the current and future functions and tasks of the State Energy Efficiency.

The Ministry of Energy is determined to pay special attention to the digitalization of the energy efficiency sector and the issues of effective monitoring of energy efficiency measures.

Wide involvement of international partners is planned. The Ministry of Energy has already created a sectoral working group “Efficient Consumption of Energy Resources and Reform of District Heating” within the framework of a three-tier international aid coordination system.

In addition, with the support of international development partners, a number of international technical assistance projects in the field of energy efficiency are being implemented. The cooperation is aimed at the implementation of the EU Directive on energy efficiency in domestic legislation, the introduction of the standard for energy management systems in industry, the development of green and hydrogen energy in the framework of cooperation with Germany. Among the partners of the Ministry: GIZ, GEF / UNIDO, EE4U Energy Efficiency Support Program in Ukraine.
