Butusov: Commander of 24th Aidar battalion was killed near Horlivka

On August 25, 2019, the platoon commander of the 24th Aidar battalion of the 53rd mechanized brigade, Oleksandr (call sign Tikhon), was killed near the occupied city of Horlivka, as the journalist Yuriy Butusov reported on Facebook.

“Tikhon” died after enemy shelling near Horlivka. According to Butusov, the militants used automatic grenade launchers. According to the journalist, another soldier also died in result of a bullet wound.

According to information available, in August 2019, 14 Ukrainian soldiers were already killed in the JFO area. Namely, 7 servicemen died in action and 7 soldiers – are non-combat fatalities.

As The Journalist reported, JFO rescuers neutralized almost 170 explosive devices in Donbas over past week.
