In Austria, the Regional Court of Ried im Innkreis awarded nearly € 1.5 million to the former owner of the house where Adolf Hitler was born.

According to Spiegel Online, court ruled that the real property of the building significantly exceeds the one that the state paid to the woman – € 310 thousand.
An expert assessment showed that even without taking into account the unusualness of the house, its value is € 812 thousand, and given its historical value, it was estimated at € 1.5 million.
Austria expropriated the house in January 2017 for fear that it could become a place of pilgrimage for neo-Nazis.
