German Chancellor Angela Merkel had a telephone conversation with the future president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was reported by the Bureau of Press and Information of the Federal Government, European Truth informs.
“German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated the newly elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky,” the message says.
It is also reported that the parties highly appreciated the close ties between the two states. The Chancellor stressed that Germany will continue to support Ukraine, especially in its right to sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Merkel invited Zelensky to Germany. They also agreed on close cooperation.
As The Journalist reported, Merkel congratulated Poroshenko on reaching second round of presidential elections.
