On the night of May 8, a soldier of a separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commander of the air assault squadron, petty officer Volodymyr Koval, died.

As reported in the 79th separate airborne Mykolaiv assault brigade, petty officer Koval died at one of the positions on the Azov Sea.

“As a result of targeted fire from illegal armed groups, a soldier of a separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commander of the landing and assault division, petty officer Volodymyr Koval has died from a serious wound during a two-way fight,” the message said.

As noted in the brigade, the deceased serviceman was born in the Khmelnytskyi region, he left alone a wife and daughter.

Command of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and command of the military unit express their condolences to the relatives of the deceased warrior.
