The deficit of the federal budget of the United States of America hits USD 779 billion, which is the highest figure over the past six years. This is reported by the AP news agency.
«The deficit climbed USD 113 billion from fiscal 2017. Debt will likely worsen in the coming years, with the Trump administration expecting the deficit to top USD 1 trillion in 2019,» – the report says.
It is noted that the deficit worsened because tax revenues are not keeping pace with government spending, since Congress provided more funds for military and domestic programs.
