MEPs call on British to abandon Brexit

Over hundred deputies of the European Parliament decided to send an open letter to the citizens of the United Kingdom with an appeal to abandon Brexit, DW informs.
The European deputies noted in the letter that if Brexit will be canceled, they will support this decision and will continue to work with Britain for the sake of “reforming and improving the European Union”.

"We ask you to think again before leaving the EU in the interests of future generations," said in a statement.

MEP from the German Christian Democratic Union Peter Lezet said that the European Parliament wanted to "send a signal to the people, as well as to the House of Commons, and make it clear: if the British decide to stay, they will be happy."
