In order to fulfill the state budget for 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the Ministry of Finance to make external financial borrowings by receiving loans, which does not exceed the equivalent of USD 630 million.
The corresponding decision was made on February 20, at a government meeting.
The Cabinet of Ministers states that the loan will be divided on A and B tranches; the interest should be no higher than 5.9% per annum; the commission for arranging a loan – 0.8%. Tranche A is planned to be attracted for a 4 years period, and tranche B – for 10 years.
It is also indicated that the loan obligations (loan in euros, not exceed USD 375 million equivalent) are secured by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development guarantee under a loan agreement between Ukraine, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch and TMF Global Service (UK ) Limited.
