Two films shot along with Ukraine were put on the long list of the European Film Academy. This is about «Donbass» by Serhy Loznytsia (co-production with Germany, France and the Netherlands) and «A Woman At War» by Benedikt Erlingsson (co-production with Iceland and France). This is reported on the official website of the film award.
Both films were nominated for the European Film Academy awards and were shown at the Cannes Film Festival. It is noteworthy that the «Donbass», telling about life in the occupied territories in the east of Ukraine, was awarded for the best directing in the program «The Special View». In turn, «A Woman At War» – about the citizen of Iceland who fights for the ecology and adopts a girl from Ukraine, won the award of the society of dramatic authors and composers (SACD) in the section «Critics Week».
It is noted that 49 films were included on the long list of the European Film Academy. The nominees for the European Film Academy Awards from this list will be chosen at the Film Festival in Seville (Spain) on November 10.
As The Journalist reported earlier, a movie starring Kevin Spacey only made USD 126 on its premiere day.
