Former security chief of former president Viktor Yanukovych Konstantin Kobzar said that during the events on Maidan he appealed to the Federal Security Service of Russia in order to save the ex-president from the deadly danger.

Thus, during the interrogation in the Obolonskyi District Court of Kiev, where the criminal case of Yanukovych’s execution of the state treasury is being considered, Kobzar noted that after president left the Mezhyhiria late on February 21st, 2014, the danger of his life only increased.

According to Kobzar, «armed militants» pursued Yanukovych both in Kharkiv and in Donetsk. Also, said the former head of the guard, then acting. President Alexander Turchinov ordered to block the movement of Yanukovych by airplanes or helicopters, reports Unian.

Kobzar added that after Donetsk Yanukovych decided to go to the Crimea by car. But the president’s guard found out that more than 100 people armed with assault rifles were already waiting for Yanukovich’s motorcade along the road to the Crimea. Kobzar reported this to Yanukovych in order to preserve the life of the president without engaging in action with the militants.

«I made a decision to contact my colleague from Russia, but there was no communication with him. Then I called a person from the FPS RF and said that we were blocked, and after a while we will enter the battle, but after that no one of us will remain. I turned to him for help to move to the Crimea», said Yanukovych’s ex-security chief.
Representatives of the FPS RF with helicopters were waiting for Yanukovich’s motorcade to fly to the Crimea. Kobzary also learned that Arsen Avakov and Valentin Nalyvaychenko arrived in the Crimea in order to catch Yanukovich. They searched the 9th gosdachu. According to Kobzar, this was before Yanukovich arrived in the Crimea.

As «Journalist» reported 4 years after the shooting the GPU found bullets on the upper floors of the Ukraina Hotel.
